Founded in 1989, Archer Vineyard began with a vision that helped shape the modern story of Oregon wine. Don and Grace Archer planted their first vines on the southern slopes of Parrett Mountain in the Chehalem Mountains AVA, drawn by the promise of the Willamette Valley and the untapped potential of Yamhill County. Inspired by Grace’s childhood memories of California vineyards, they carefully selected proven clones of Pommard, Wädenswil, and Dijon Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris to steward this remarkable site.
Rooted in Parrett Mountain’s prized Jory and Laurelwood soils and bathed in golden sunsets from its west-facing slopes, the vineyard has thrived for nearly four decades—nurtured by the land, the climate, and a deep respect for making great wine.
Today, Archer Vineyard is proudly owned by a group of Oregon business leaders who carry forward Don and Grace’s founding vision: crafting exceptional, estate-grown Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris while offering genuine hospitality in a relaxed, welcoming setting. We believe great wines have a way of bringing people together—and that friendships grow naturally around the table and the glass.

Meet Our Wine Leader
Andrew Riechers is leading our winery and cellar, overseeing a full range of responsibilities. He has an admirable resume dedicated to making amazing wines with experience in Oregon, California, New Zealand, and France. This native Oregonian practiced wine making in Burgundy with Domaine Naudin Ferrand, in Central Otago with Burn Cottage, in Santa Barbara with Summerland and Sanguis, and recently in the Willamette Valley with Antica Terra, Sacred Shores and Audeant.
